whats wrong with my eggs :(

i think its a humidity issue and i know its not a temp issue because my incubator does not fluctuate more than .5 digrees, it stays perfectly between 87.5 and 88.5

but here are the pictures any ideas (p.s. this is my first clutch ever)

How far along are the eggs? Some of them look good, the others may be going bad. Do they have veins?

Candle them to check for veins.

One of several videos to illustrate what I'm talking about:

I'd agree though, that one egg doesn't look good if it ever was. Good luck with the rest of them, hope they're viable for ya'.

You shine a small bright light into the egg. Like a pen flashlight. If the room is dark, the inside of the egg will glow. A fertile egg will show a roadmap of red veins over the inside of the egg. And infertile one will be yellowish or clear inside.

I would guess it might be the moisture in your substrate, but I don't have a lot of experience with eggs yet. I do mine substrateless.

The three eggs in the top of the picture appear to be going or have gone bad. They may have started as infertiles or they may have just stopped developing at some point along the way. My suggestion is to smell them. The good eggs ( the nice white ones with veins) will smell like good dirt, it reminds me of a loomy smell. The bad eggs will just smell rotten.

If you want to be absolutely sure they are bad just wait, if they are the smell will be overwhelming shortly. When my eggs go bad some times I cut them open (after I remove them from the egg box) to see if they where ever good. I have only once found a tiny snake that was long gone. Mostly I find coagulated yolk/albumen mix that smells like death.

Most likely you did nothing wrong. If the other eggs are still doing fine then these guys just weren't meant to be. It sucks but it happens. Good luck with the others!

and checked all 10 and 3 out of 10 didn't seem to have veins and surprisingly the top left one was one of the 7 with viens. when they don't have veins what exactly does that mean ? oh and all of them smelt like good dirt so no rotten stuff yet

If they have veins it means they are fertile and growing. No veins = infertile.

Well if they don't stink then let them be.

If they are getting moldy you can wipe the mold off and see if it returns. If it does you can rub a little lotramin (very little) onto the spot that keeps getting moldy. The first clutch we hatched 4 eggs went bad and got moldy but they where attached to the others so I was told to sprinkle athletes foot powder on them and it worked. But the eggs where caked in the powder by the time they hatched lol. So the wiping off of the mold and application of a little lotramin is a much nicer looking alternative.

You can see the foot powder in this pic
