    Can anyone help me?

I am part of a herp group on facebook for the KC area. There are a ton of new people joining everyday and the creator tends to post a lot of good information on a lot of different herps;however, last night she was posting Melissa Kaplan's "information" about MVB bulbs from anapsid.org.

Most of this information is from the 90s with Melissa's most recent article on the subject from 2002. Plus, well I don't trust a word that comes out of her mouth since her care sheets are so horribly full of misinformation. I brought that up to the poster but she seems to think that just because Melissa posts incorrect caresheets, that her "research" on lighting and digestion is still credible, I disagree with her and with the act of sending anyone to that site.

So here is where i need help. Are there any more recent articles out there about lighting and digestion that can be used to replace these links? Any new information about the safety of MVB bulbs (which according to the 2002 article are giving us all cancer and only fit for zoos if the zoo keeper has the right protective equipment to wear when in range)? Anything at all I can post to convince the creator of that group to not send traffic to a site where a newbie might come across a caresheet that will potentially kill their new pet?

Guess not. Thats is a shame. I hate to see anyone linking to a site with misinformation.

Keep in mind that you're asking this question on a site where the primary species of interest (ball python) does not require UV light. A quick google search turned up this site http://www.uvguide.co.uk/. Jon Coote, who works with T-Rex Products, has also done quite a bit of UV research. Might want to get in touch with their panel of experts (all of whom are respected in the industry) & see if they have any lit or information you can use. http://www.t-rexproducts.com/reptile-experts/

    Good luck!

Reptile UV is a great source, here is a link to an article (pointed at beardies) simplified some...
