Most breeders will not let tu come and check a snake out in person.
But they might meet them somewhere to allow them to check it out. Plus if they meet up you dont have to deal with shipping

True dat. Plus, if a breeder is unwilling to let me view the animals before purchase if I'm willing to drive there, what does that say about the breeder? Thats like a breeder at an expo not allowing me to hold and inspect an animal before purchase. If I was denied, I would move on. I would wonder what they're trying to hide.

Also, pieds aren't like a pastel or normal. They're still a rather pricey morph. I would definitely agree to check out the snakes before purchase if at all possible. But that doesn't mean that buying online is bad I do that ALL the time. Just have to pay that pesky shipping charge and make sure you buy from someone who is reputable with some online street cred

But there's a difference between being at a show displaying animals and letting someone cone into your personal home.
I'm very careful around here who i tell what i have. I'm paranoid about break ins and such.

It says that the breeder doesn't want strangers in their home. I'm not going to allow someone I don't know into my home either. I'll be happy to meet locally to deliver, and I'll provide pictures of what I have available.

I am a home based breeding business and even more than not wanting people in my home, I can't because its a condition of my business license...

To OP, you can go to the east bay Vivarium in Berkeley as well. They do have pieds occasionally, but are a little pricey because they are a retail brick and mortar business...

Thanks for the info everyone! I'm fine with buying both locally or online, as long as it's from a reputable source and not insanely overpriced to rob me blind. It will be a personal pet so how it was taken care of since it hatched is especially important to me.

Just wana throw a quick 2 cents...

The reason everyone is listing a bunch of reputable breeders is so that the OP doesn't have to worry about getting sent an unhealthy snake. Buy from someone who has a good reputation. The "big names" listed are "big names" because they produce quality animals and have great customer service. You can't go wrong buying from them .

RDR has some amazing ball pythons, and he is very helpful. But his website is the worse. It is do hard to find something you looking for since there is no available page.
Look at good breeders and everywhere. You never know where you will find one, I'm picking up mine today from my gfs coworker.

As for letting people in your house it's a tuff subject, when I start breeding and selling I would not allow random people into my home. I'm
Not scared of robbery since my 2 neighbors are cops and I have my 75 lb American bulldog/pit mix that wouldn't not allow you into my house with out her giving you the okay. She's not aggressive just over protective of my mom and gf and if she feels they are in danger she will give you a warning that she doesn't like what you are doing.
