Well, the only time a bowl size matters in relation to ball python size is if he can't reach in there to get a drink of water. The biggest factor for thebowls is the size of the enclosure and the amount of humidity. Remember that usually the bigger the bowl, the more water you put in, and the more humidity it causes. That bowl should be fine if it fits in your BPs enclosure.

Like said above, if it fits in your cage you should be fine. If you use tubs it may cause high humidity if you already have healthy levels with a small bowl.
I have a 40gal tank with the natural look so I use this x-lrg bowl (style B) and even with most of the top screen covered I float around 50% humidity without misting.
I went to dollar tree and got all three of my BPs a nice heavy ceremic water bowl so they don't spill it or move it around.
