    Clutches 3, 4, and 5. Semi-disappointing :(

I think we'll be dropping the room temp next season.

6 eggs from VPI Axanthic x Pied

6 slugs and 1 tiiiiiny boob egg from Desert Spider x Normal. It's in the incubator but I don't have any hope for it.

2 eggs and 4 slugs from Cinnamon x Desert Spider. We were really looking forward to this one and it is very disappointing, but not a complete loss!

Sorry to hear. Will you be selling off any of the offspring from the VPI X Pied?

    - - - Updated - - -

By dropping temps you mean dropping temps at night during breeding? And were you affected by evacuations at all from the Waldo Canyon fire? Seeing all the pictures breaks my heart. I don't know if I'll be doing any running in Waldo Canyon anymore and driving around in the Jeep drinking and shooting stuff on Rampart Range Road won't be the same anymore either.

Not unless the clutch is male heavy, and I already have a buyer waiting if it is.

Yeah. A lot of our girls were soaking quite a bit to try and cool down. I figured they would be fine but I guess not. Live and learn!

No I wasn't affected at all. The greenery will grow back eventually. I want to go up there once they start letting people back in. I'm kind of curious to see what the area looks like naked.

Well at least you bave a buyer lined up and don't have to worry about finding one (not that it would be too hard for some double het Panda Pied babies!).

It will grow back but it won't be in my lifetime, I'm afraid. Mount Herman up by Monument is still bare as can be. I couldn't believe how it looked the one time that I went flyfishing out in Chessman Canyon/Deckers beyond Woodland Park this past summer. Fire had burned nearly all of the forest that you drive through between WP and Deckers and I just can't imagine the areas that I go to frequently in the Springs looking like that.

Or are the Panda Pied the super cinny pieds?

Yep. Either super cinny or super black pastel for one half of a panda pied. Visual axanthic pied would produce a Lightning Pied; INCREDIBLE looking animals!

Spitzu, lowering temps a few degrees worked like a charm for me. Last year, one of my females slugged out and a couple others produced some slugs and some good eggs. This year, I lowered the temps two degrees and so far, I've got double the eggs that I produced last year and not a single slug so far. So, I'm a fan of slightly lower temperatures. Sorry to see your slugs. Hopefully, next year will be better.
