HELP! Egg Bound Female?...When to panic?
This has been the season of problems for me...First a female passed an infertile egg and only a week later a healthy looking clutch. She is doing fine and so are the eggs....But now I have MORE problems...two females' eggs seem to have broken on the way out and their contents leaked out. One of the females then passed what seemed to be the egg shell with still a little of the yolk inside. The other seems to be still going through the same process...Should I panic and run to the vet? Or should I just keep them quiet and wait a few more days? Since they passed the egg contents, will they still have problems with the remaining eggs, or should I assume that now the other eggs will come out naturally? They are not restless and they DO look like they have a few eggs inside. I made an appointment to take them to a reputable reptile vet tomorrow, but I'd like some feedback, because although I don't want to jeopardize their health, I don't want to pay a lot if there is no real emergency

I have never heard of this before, therefore I can not offer any advice. I am sure that someone with more experience than myself will be able to chime in and help you out.
Good luck to you and your girls. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all will be well with them.
Can you post pics of these eggs, btw?

I can't keep up with what I have

Please do not wait on the vet visit.
Someone came here not long ago with an eggbound female. We all told him just to wait a day or so, myself included. The female died the next morning. He had strength enough to open her up and try to save her eggs, which is not something I think I could do.
So do NOT wait. This is serious, and a vet needs to evaluate and help these girls, or you run the very real risk of loosing them.

Re: HELP! Egg Bound Female?...When to panic?
I took both females to the vet, Dr. Don Harris, today. He examined them, x-ray'd them and concluded that although what happened is a very rare occurrence, they are NOT egg bound. He gave them both an Oxytocin shot and told me to keep them quiet and warm, and that eggs should come out in two to three days. One of the females has at least 3 eggs and the other at least 2 eggs. I still have two more gravid females. Hopefully they'll get to term without problems.
