Update on my Ball Python. "Sam" ate a pinky on his/her first feeding. I was worried that he/she may be stressed, but she went at it like a champ. I think the baby pinky might not be enough for him/her. Should I feed her both pinkies? They come in pack of two. And where do you guys buy your live baby rodents/hoppers from? Also, "Sam" seems to like being held. I hold her/him everyday, and she'll just chill there all mellow like, or end up sliding up and down my arm. Funny thing is that Sam will only hang out with me. He/She won't go to anyone else, or even want to try and go on anyone other than my hand. Guess he/she likes my scent.
Unless your ball is an extremely undersized hatchling, mouse pinkies are not a substantial enough meal. Rat pinkies aren't even big enough. Most people start their normal sized hatchlings right out of the eggs on mouse hoppers or rat fuzzies. They move up very quickly from there. Get yourself a digital scale and feed your snake 10-15% of its body weight every 5-7 days. Saves a lot of hassle.
