    Little robin

    No pics unfortunately

I found a juvinile robin perched on a fence at my girlfriend's house. Unsure of if it was injured or able to get down I approached it and it didn't shy away from me. I reached out and touched it, it still didn't shy away so I picked it up and set it on the ground, it flew a short distance (still learning) and it turned out momma was nearby, she was none to fond of my actions. The little one hopped over to the neighbors yard and found spilled seeds from their birdfeeder.

And for those thinking it: no, mother birds will not abandon their babies if you touch them. They have almost no sense of smell, it's a lie told to children to keep them from messing with nests.
