Well, I don't know about your snake, but mine do it because they are ticklish.
I am not joking. Any time I lightly stroke a finger down their side or along their belly, they move not only the part where I touch, but ahead of where I touch, in anticipation of my touch. That sure seems ticklish to me. Haven't we all done the same thing ? Some one or something tickles us, and we twitch that part away ? If someone trails a finger along our arm, and it tickles, we twitch our muscles to move away from the touch, before it gets further.
Some of mine are more ticklish than others, and they really move away from my touch. Others are so subtle you almost don't notice it.
