squishy snake

How come when you stroke a ball python they get squishy in the part you touched? like they do a wave. I just always wanted to know, thanks

Lol i guess? its just when i stroke him, he gets squishy. but he isn't moving

i know what you mean like when you touch the part of the body it moves or becomes flat but then goes normal, i think its just something normal.

I think they are reflexively pulling away from your touch. I've had them do that when they are balled up and I stroked with a couple of fingers very gently. It feels like they are moving along with my touch like a wave.

You are feeling the snake's movement muscles. Either you are touching the relaxed muscle, which is naturally soft, or the snake is pulling away from you. My snakes have the same thing.

Well, I don't know about your snake, but mine do it because they are ticklish.

I am not joking. Any time I lightly stroke a finger down their side or along their belly, they move not only the part where I touch, but ahead of where I touch, in anticipation of my touch. That sure seems ticklish to me. Haven't we all done the same thing ? Some one or something tickles us, and we twitch that part away ? If someone trails a finger along our arm, and it tickles, we twitch our muscles to move away from the touch, before it gets further.

Some of mine are more ticklish than others, and they really move away from my touch. Others are so subtle you almost don't notice it.

I heard that they are tickless also. Especially on their bellies. Sometimes I tickle mine on purpose. Not for long though cause tickling can be annoying
