    What does your ball weigh?
and your ball will roam the cage during the night as balls are nocturnal, and i don't think they get hungry they are instinctive creatures so if they smell food they will go into hunt mode constantly flickering their tongue, but i am sure if they also do this too much it can be because there stressed but im no expert id wait for some more people to weigh in

    and welcome to BP.net

Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened.

Do you have a feeding schedule set up yet? If so I would just stick to your feeding schedule.

Pinkies are too small, and in most cases so are fuzzies. I would go straight to mouse hoppers.

She has been very docile and I have done lots of research on web as to the roaming during stress. I put a longhorn shed on warm side for hide and she chills in there. This was first feeding at home and first time she roamed around cage. That's what made me think that. Thankks for friendly responses.

Or do rat fuzzies. They're about the same size as hoppers, but carry more nutrition

General rule of thumb is the same size prey as the largest part of the snakes body. If you want to be more accurate, get a digital scale at Wal-Mart in the cooking section and feed the snake between 10-15% of its body weight. So yours would need a mouse or eat that weighs at least 16g.

I'm almost as much of a newb as you, so take this for what it's worth....

My bp is about the same size as yours and takes a rat pup every 5 days or so. It seems to me there'd be no harm in offering yours another meal sooner than that if her last was smaller than usual, or you could wait the usual 7 days and then try her on larger prey. Six of one, half dozen of the other IMO.

Where do you guys buy your rat pups/fuzzies from?

I was told to feed mine a pinky, and fed him/her one small pinky, but now I think I didn't feed him/her enough from reading this thread.

I buy from a family owned pet store because they have the cheapest rats and they don't try to gyp you out of money but that's because i don't have a large collection so breeding rats would not be a good idea for me
