Well this kinda sucks. I just pulled this little one out of the egg when it became obvious to me that she was not absorbing any yolk and I was able to notice a pretty substantial kink. Turns out it was a complete mess...no eyes, deformed snout, several major kinks, belly attached to the tail, and the belly was not fully developed and pretty much wide open. Can't really think any reason as to why this happened, guess it just happens some time. Temps were consistent and not too low or high, humidity was fine, I did not roll, drop, or play with the egg in any way. The other 3 in the clutch are healthy, 2 out of the egg, 1 still in absorbing yolk.

Hard to look at, but something that needs to be seen. It doesn't take much for something to go wrong in an egg, and for so many factors beyond what we can see. Sorry to hear this happened to your clutch. Very disappointing. But, it's one thing that people need to see who are thinking about getting into breeding. These things happen.

Wow. Thanks for sharing. I studied developmental biology in college and there is so much going on during development that it is crazy that it ever works and produces healthy animals in any species! Sorry about this little one.
