Egg laying help please.
So at noon today I saw my gravid girls bottom looking like she was guna lay and by 12:30 there were 2 big healthy eggs out. I had to go out for a bit and when I came back at 3 there were 4. A bit after that she laid a slug, than another egg bringing it up to 5. On first inspection she looked done so I grabbed the eggs and put them in an egg box.

On second inspection she looks to have one egg left but it's not right at the end of her. She's had this bump for about 2 hrs now and it doesn't look like its moved at all. How long should I wait for it before I need to be concerned about egg bound problems? I've been reading alot about egg bound ness and it scares me. This is our first clutch ever and I dot want to screw anything up. Thanks.

Has the egg moved at all? Hopefully she'll pass it pretty quickly. Is she restless or just coiled up? You can always try and see if you can GENTLY move it in the right direction. Good luck!!

It doesn't seem to have moved much but she seems restless. Normally she is a very calm snake. She is coiled on the warm side again and when I take the lid off to look at her, it's strike mode. Is there any links that you know of about massaging the egg out? Thanks.

I would give her until morning and hopefully it passes. If not, try and handle her and as she moves over your hand see if the egg can be moved at all. Use almost no pressure. Some handling may get it to move enough for her to pass it. If that doesn't happen very quickly I would suggest a vet visit. You may want to schedule one as you don't want this to stay untreated for very long. It's a bummer that this happened to her, it's actually pretty rare. Good luck!

Any techniques you can recommend to help it? I just tried handling her a bit but I was unsure of the technique used.

Not really, hopefully she passes it on her own. You don't want to push or force it as you may tear the oviduct. Some handling may get the egg moving and start it for her but forcing it may make things worse. You're in a tough spot and a vet is probably the best option if she doesn't pass it within a couple days.

Thanks Dave. Big help and I will post here if anything changes. She seems tired so maybe she needs to build some strength back up.

Re: Egg laying help please.
like dave said, give her a little time. if you try to move the egg down and it springs back into place. this usually indicates a problem.
