Just curious...
Wow, it's been like 8 months since I last posted here...
Anyway, I was wondering how bad rat feces can be for a snake who's about to eat them, lol. I'm aware that rat feces alone can cause serious disease in humans, but as far as I know zoonotic diseases are pretty rare. The reason I'm asking this is because the feeder rat I just fed my BP just coated himself in rancid(I can smell it from my computer as I type) diarrhea as he was asphyxiated.
He's being ingested as we speak.

That picture made me totally burst out laughing at work. Shh! Stop that!
Seeing as it's going into your snake one way or another, my guess is it shouldn't really matter. As long as your snake doesn't mind a new flavor...

That alone made me so unhappy. Thank you, sir.

Your snake will be fine, unless you're feeding wild rats that have the potential to carry other sorts of bacteria or other parasites. The extra nasty poo is also used as a defense machanism - one that snakes do not give one rat's behind about (Pun entirely intended).
