couple questions about one of my BP's
so I adopted 2 BP the other night . 1 female 5 yr Het Clown morph and a male 1.5 year Het clown morph . they are in seperate tanks and I have no intention of breeding them as I am not in any way ready for something like that but i do have a question or two.
the male when i got him looked like he had a really bad shed , pieces of skin from the shed were hanging on him still . now i have been spraying down the tank about once an hour to raise the humidity level , and it seems as his color is coming back a bit as well as his blue eyes are going away.
BUT , it almost looks as if his skin is dehydrated below is a picture if anyone can look at it and give me some advice I would be very appricativeis where I am concerned is right behind head at the curve of his body , the female is doing just fine . but im concerned about the mail please get back to me when you can thank you so much ,

If he was blue before and it just went away, it means he's going to shed any day now. The hanging skin is probably left overs from the last shed. Keep up the humidity and you should have a nicely shed snake soon.
He looks dehydrated somewhat, but thats probably just because he's about to shed.

Re: couple questions about one of my BP's
You dont really need to spray it every hour. When my snakes go into shed I do a moderate misting in the morning and then again in the evening and they all shed perfect every time.

Re: couple questions about one of my BP's
If he had a bad shed before I would make him a shed box to make this a better shed. My BP uses his Exo-Terra Snake Cave as one, the moss creates a great humid micro clim. Mine is still young tough so he fits in it. You can make one pretty easy out of a tupperware that is a good size for your BP. Cut a hole in the lid and fill it with damp paper towels. Its better to use a tupperware/container that's not clear, they may not feel secure in a clear one and not use it. Or just put damp moss in its hides to help him.
When I got mine he had a bad previous shed so when he started again I would soak him for about 15 each day after his eyes went clear. He had a great shed and looks beautiful.
