    Garter (?) eating a Squirrel

I think it's a garter, anyway. If I'm wrong, please correct me!

Someone I went to high school with posted this on Facebook. They were on a run and came upon this little slice of nature, so they stopped to take a picture.

Not a garter. What you have there looks like a yellow rat snake.

I doubt a garter would be big enough to take down a squirrel but who knows lol?!

    Thank you!

I thought it was odd that a garter would be that big but I have never seen any other striped snakes around here. Learn something new every day.

That's a pretty cool sight, not one you see everyday while strolling through the neighborhood!

That is really an awesome find. I have found a number of Black Rat snakes this year but no Yellow Rat snakes like that. In fact my daughter and i just took pictures of a 5 footer at my dad's house on Thursday. It's pretty amazing what their jaws can acoomodate when it comes to eating.
