Blue Tree Monitors?
My buddy wants to get a pair but he cant seem to find much about them cause he says they are pretty rare. Are there any breeders here in the states? He wants to breed the pair but has no info to go on. He also said that from what little information he could find all were imported wild caught.... Any help? Thanks!

These kind

?? I dont think they are very rare, they were all over the reptile expo I went to last year and are in a few shops out here in Phoenix..
I want a black one.. I dont know if they are all wild caught, but I have seen everything from smallish ones to the almost full grown adult size for sale.
Maybe they are just rare in your area?

Lol sounds like a little fib, or that he just might not be looking in the right places. I mean they are out here in Phoenix so I am sure you could check at a few reptile shops and online and get one, or wait for a reptile show and look there.
hope you find some for him!

They usually are wild caught in my experiences. I plan on breeding blue and greens some day when I have the space. They are pretty pricey, usually 700+ each or more. I have seen a few sold locally here and in socal. Check fauna and kingsnake.

Tell him to start with a black tree monitor and after 2 years with it he still has the gumption to get them then go for it. Atleast the black trees will give him the right type of care and habitat he will have to get used too without having to shell out the big bucks.
Here are some links for your friend:
black tree monitor
blue tree (spotted) monitor
Mini monitors, other select herps, and aquatics.
