Sexing
Hi! I want to sex my normal BP. I've watched some YouTube videos and read about it, but I'm still a little nervous to attempt it.
Is it difficult? Is it possible to hurt the snake? Should I not even try since I have never done it? Any tips and tricks would be much appreciated!

I personally would never recommend trying it unless you have been personally taught how to do it by someone who knows how. I've seen it done in videos plenty of times, but I still will not try to do it until either the vet or someone reputable teaches me in person. If you do it incorrectly, yes, you can hurt the snake.

Like WarriorPrincess said I would wait till you are able to have someone teach you in person. I had my local reptile vet as well as a local breeder show me in person before I attempted it on my snakes. After seeing it a few times I was able to get it down pat.

All really depends on your comfort level. If you feel that your capable enough after watching those videos to give it a go then I say go for it. Sure if you manhandle the animal and squeeze the life out of the tail you can injure a sex organ but just remember to not use all of your strength and you should be ok. Popping properly takes practice and not everyone has a reputable person in the area willing to give lessons. Once you get the technique down you will find that it becomes almost robotic.
