I hope this helped a little.I just purchased my first baby male Albino Red Tail Boa from Emerald Coast Exotics! But I'll have to wait til Tuesday....I'm super excited!
I have some beginner's questions....
1.) Compared in size, will the common adult male RTB be around the same size as an adult female ball python? I just want to know so that I can prepare for space.
Male BCIs (Common Colombian Boa Constrictor) are typically smaller than females with most reaching between 4-6ft. I wouldn't say they are the same size as an adult female ball python...they are usually bigger than that unless you have a really large female ball, or a small male BCI. While some may be similar in size, you need to be prepared for it to get larger. There are always exceptions to the norm. I have seen males that are bigger than the average female, and males that are more average sized. Just depends on the snake.
2.) Do they have the same husbandry as ball pythons?
Not exactly. Check out this guide - The Ultimate Boa Constrictor Care Manual. It will help you immensely. There are other parts also available on the same site, or a free download in pdf form. It even has a special add on about breeding by the Boaphile.

3.) When I viewed some video clips on youtube, i notice the albinos seem to yellow out and looks patternless. Does this happen usually? I heard if you get a higher contrast albino, it would keep their patterns.
Not entirely sure about this. I think it depends on quality and the type of albino you purchased.
Thanks in advance!![]()
