Anyone ever use the vivarium thermostats before? I was looking at them online and was considering one but wanted to get a review on them before i did. Thanks for any help given.

Do you mean the vivarium electronics form reptile basics? If so, I have 2 and have no problems with them. I know quite a few other people on here use them as well, and there are threads talking about the positive and negatives of them. I recommend them!

I prefer the Herpstat line by spyder robotics to the VE thermostats... But both are excellent thermostats that will get the job done.

If you do go with the VE thermostats, make sure that you get at least the VE-200, the VE-100 is only an on/off style thermostat, whereas the 200 and above are proportional. (all Herpstat models are proportional)

Here's a thread that's pretty similar to what you're asking:

I personally can't say; I run Herpstats on mine with a single Helix on my quarantine rack. From what I've read of them and heard from talking with breeders/keepers, they're quality units and hold up but as to personal experience, I can't say.

Did you mean the ecozone vivarium controllers? I have used them a few times solid units, some very great features but the price tag is quite high. I really like the reporting online.

If you mean the VE series I am with serpent, the price range is flat with the herpstats and they offer so much more for basically the same cost. The ability to have the unit shut down with LOW and high settings really is a huge difference between and making the herpstat over all providing a safer set up.
