    Little blue "dragon"

He looks like a little dragon in this picture. All he needs is a stash of gold. Okay, so he's a vegetarian dragon... lol

He likes looking out of the window when we travel.

I'm a little worried about a drinking problem...

But he does like hanging out on my shoulder

In addition to the green everyone knows about and the red that is becoming more popular, they also come in blue, yellow (with peach highlights), white, and there is a caramel albino now that has almost an opalescent quality about it. The whole iguana color morph thing is still relatively new but has some amazing possibilities.

I have never wanted an iguana before.

Now, I think I've changed my mind.

Do I even want to know how much a blue costs ?

Hahaha. Stunning little guy! I love the one where he's looking out the window... Waiting... Calculating... Plotting his next move.

Gorgeous. You don't see many blues these days!

The price of a blue varies greatly. The price dropped from the thousands to the hundreds when Petco managed to get a hold of a shipment from El Salvador last year. The price has been creeping back up, but a few Petcos around the country got a few in this year as well. If you can find one at Petco, they sell for $150 but otherwise you are looking at about $500 for a hatchling.

The Petco price wasn't really the bargain it sounded like since, at least last year, many of them had serious health issues. I bought two and after about $800 worth of vet bills I lost my little female. I still have my male and, despite the fact that most of the iguana community was convinced he'd turn green within weeks, he still shines bright blue a year later.

Some of the color morphs are amazing. The caramel albino is my favorite. One day, maybe...
