New breeder female morph question (Poss het red axanthic)

Hello,

Picked this ~5 y/o girl up expecting a normal but found out afterwards that she is possibly het red axanthic. The temptation is strong to try and prove that out, however I was looking for feedback before spending the money on a known red axanthic.

That aside & without further ado, the photos!

Het red axanthics actually are not a recessive morph (stupid name IMO)

Het red axanthics are a co-dominate morph. Either it is visually there or it is not.

Agreed! Het red axanthic is confusing... Couldnt they have given it a better name?

Looks like a regular normal to me.

Het red axanthic is the heterozygous form and the homozygous form is the red axanthic similar to a het Ivory AKA Yellowbelly is the incomplete dominate form of an Ivory.
Definitely confusing, just like ....there are no co-dominate traits in ball pythons, incomplete dominate traits yes, co-dom no...

Thanks for the quick feedback everyone! Confirms my initial suspicions based on the Het Red Axanthic hunting guide however when I doubt I'd rather ask those in the know before spending money.

The het aspect is confusing in this case as it seems more like a pastel/super pastel genetic where the het form is still a visible morph.

I am still extremely happy with her as she is a nice normal, proven breeder and I got a great price.

Now back to my original plans of finding a nice bumblebee boyfriend for her.
(plus I still want a multigene female so this provides the excuse for another couple of acquisitions. )
