Finally got my garden in the ground!!!

Ive never tried frying my squash before. Usually just boil it and add some salt, pepperm and butter to it. How do you fry it?

I use half cornmeal half flour mixed with salt pepper garlic and a little Cajun seasoning. Then mix an egg with some milk, dip the cut squash in the milk then the mix and drop them into a frying pan with hot oil.

Nah, plants will keep bearing so long as you keep picking. What makes them stop is if you miss some fruits. Then they figure they've completed their reproductive cycle.

I have only 2 potted tomatoes, and a potted spaceship squash. Rental house, so I can't put in a real garden.

On the up-side, my tomato plants have little green tomatoes on them already.

Yea bc i you tear up part of their lawn for a garden then theyll have to replant the grass after you leave. Its a pain to grow grass and since the garden depleted the soil of alot of nutrients it makes it even harder to grow.

Dont ask, dont tell would be my strategy too haha!

More than likely not, they may even know I have it because I have very nosey neighbors who talk with my rent man on a regular basis. And the couple that live across the street from me goes to church with him. So, all in all it's nothing I've worried about. If I thought it would be a huge issue then I wouldn't of put it in or used a raised bed on top of a tarp. I'm just saying if it's not a huge issue easier to ask forgiveness than permission. Plus I plan on sowing grass seed at the end of the season. With all the cow manure the grass will look better than anywhere else in the yard.

I bet you have green thumb though you just started your garden it looks like all that is in it will even grow more well sooner. I love planting but when I do, plant dies.My mom used to tell me only green thumb can seed and grow healthy plants and crops. Do you believe this?

No, I believe anyone can grow plants. I use started plants instead of from seed, and I also you cow manure, and other organic fertilizers. And I work about 20 minutes a day weeding and/or watering. Plus every Saturday I put an extra 20 minutes into any other work that might need to be done. All in all it takes effort not a green thumb.

I slice squash and then sautee it in salt, olive oil and some crushed cloves of garlic. Chris, I am definitely jealous of your squash (and ability to cook your own food, which I don't have at the moment!
