    Dumb probe question

If using UTH in a rack closed on 3 sides, I know t-stat probe is supposed to go on the f-watt.

I am sure I can secure it with aluminum tape. Is that enough to hold it in place from tub slides?

Also need it to be easily changeable, given rack is closed on 3 sides. Suggestions/pics anyone?

Aluminum tape on the probe is not recommended by the manufacturers it conducts heat and causes poor reading. (especially in rooms that vary temps) On a rack in absolutely stable room temps it should not matter much but lately many are turning to a rack and trying to run it is a regular room. (very hard to do BTW just heat the room to 80º and be done with it.)

I use eletrical tape to hold my probe down and tape over the whole thing with al tape. Every cleaning I check and often re tape (gets wet from the disinfectant) any way same is true for every connection.

Changeable ? what the probe? or the temps?

The temp of a rack is hugely dependant on the room temp so temp control starts there with a oil heater usually The t-stats they have on board suck generally so I'd suggest a johnson or Ranco to regulate it. That runs the ambient air temps and cool surface temp. The Tstat is basically set for an average temp the top shelf and bottom are often different so the target temp is a balance so the coolest shelf and warmest are still in a safe range.
