Feed while in shed?
Should be shedding any day now and it's been a week since he last ate. Usually he acts hungry. But he doesn't leave his hide while shedding. Would it be a waste to thaw out a rat and try to feed him?
Usually when he's hungry he's at the entrance to his hide and comes out as soon as someone comes in the room so he's not acting hungry.

I feed all my snakes while they shed. Personally I would see if he eats

Some BP's will eat, and some won't... Only one way to find out what yours does.

If he'll take it while shedding, then there's no point in not offering. A week isn't long at all to a snake though and he can wait a few more days until he sheds. Some people don't offer while the snake's in shed and some do. Usually if they take it once they'll take it all the time during shed. He's not going to starve if you wait until he sheds, so you can wait. If he's not acting hungry and he usually does on feeding day, then don't offer. It's up to you.

All 5 of mine eat in shed so i would just try it. Except for my cinny girl. Sometimes shes just weird and pissy. Maybe its bc shes on the very bottom of the rack lol?

Can't hurt to try. My only consistent eater while shedding, even if blue, is my bee. But she is a complete piggy.

All of my ladies feed while they are in shed. My guys are super picky eaters and so they eat whenever they feel like it except my pied he is a garbage disposal.

Captain Piggo ate just fine. He even went up a size in rats. Think he was scared at first, struck at it a few times like he wasn't sure, then decided to "kill" it.
