Not true. I ordered tape from them for 5 shelves once, and I had 5 individual strips with clips, all connected to one cable that I plugged directly into the thermostat.

You can daisy-chain the strips, if you'd like. It's pretty easy, though I dunno if ReptileBasics will do that for you. I just wire mine myself. It makes me feel like an electrical engineer.

You have to write in the comment box of how you want your heat tape set up. Its easiest to email rich from rbi and tell him what you plan on doing and size of tape you want. He will tell you exactly what you need to order. I just got my heat tape in from him last week. Its all set up the way i wanted and correct lenghts

i order my tape from reptile basics and they ship really fast im in the same state now but even when we lived in MI it took about 3 to 4 days to get my stuff.
