I really messed up my back a few years ago, the injury resulted in the annihilation of the disks between my L2 and T6 Vertebrae which has resulted in the need for 3 surgeries to 6 install titanium screws (2 at a time for insurance reasons)

I'm on pretty strong pain killers but hopefully I won't be on them much longer.

Not sure if the link works... Anyway these things are like giant steel cans on wheels and they carry troops in the back without seatbelts I might add. The driver decided to have some fun on the way to the training area doing 65 in a 35 around "dangerous curves". well we rolled over. I ended up with a broken nose a 5 inch laceration to my face fracture sinuses 2 sprained wrists and some serious abrasion to my fingers and a sever concussions. $42000 and 72 hours in the hospital fixed me right up. Along with 30 days light/limited duty.... later during the investigation I told the CO I knew were going to be role playing but I didnt actually know they meant litterally... LOL!
Well, cant get much more realistic of a drill than that haha...

That sucks dude. Im pretty sure i messed up my back when i totaled my car but never really got checked for it. It only bothers me when its cold and damp out though so its not really that bad, just kinda something you deal with. Good luck getting yourself off the meds, i know sometimes that can be tough for people. I have confidence you would be able to do it though.

Well I've done it twice now (after the first 2 surgeries: They have to be spaced at least 8 months apart) I'm taking a week off at the beginning of July from work/classes and am going to try and speed up this recovery by actually sleeping and laying down like my doctors tell me too lol

(last surgery was around 9 weeks ago)

I knew something was wrong when I woke up in the hospital and couldn't move lol no guessing if something was wrong or not in my case...

Yeah I don't suggest falling out of a 30 foot ceiling.... Especially if you are wearing a harness without any elastic or a shock line

Ive jumped off a 25 foot cliff into the ocean and no parts of my spine were crushed. Thats basically like the same thing i would imagine...

Oh wait, whats that? There wasnt water at the bottom of your fall?

haha jk. Sounds painful, but idk if it beats the person who crashed an airplane on his birthday earlier in the thread

Yeah... It might have been better if I actually hit the floor... I only fell 15 feet before my harness brought me to a stop. But since there wasn't any elastic in the line the harness stopped instantly.

I was wearing a standard harness that attaches at the base of the legs and under the arms. line attaches on the back. So when the line ran out the harness stopped me from the base of my legs and under my arms but my chest continued downward and... snap Woke up a few hours later in a hospital

    Airplane crash... that really sucks
