I think the OP has a right to vent here, but I do agree that it would definitely be in the interest of the community for him to reveal the name. If he chooses not to reveal the name of the breeder, that's his choice - a risky one for his reputation and for the community, but not entirely unfounded.

Whether the name is revealed or not, a public complaint about a big breeder will not go unnoticed. OP, since you've already got some eyebrows raised, I would recommend just telling us. You have no reason not to since it appears you've already spoken to the breeder. People will question you even moreso if you refuse to give details about what happened because it detracts from the credibility of the report. I understand venting, and I'm sorry you had this bad experience... but now you've got everyone worried about their next purchase!

I personally hate going on the Fauna BOI (although it does do more good than bad) and the tactics people use to find out who-done-it. It gets so out of hand and becomes personal. In my opinion, it's better off to grab a bowl of popcorn than participate in those witchhunts. So I'm out!!

IMHO, this is kinda like when someone makes a status on Facebook that says "Ugh I'm miserable this was the worst day ever. But I don't want to talk about it, don't ask" or when a preteen girl says she likes a classmate but won't tell her friends who.

I think this thread is total BS. Some guy most of us have never seen here shows up out of the blue, drops a huge supposed problem in our laps, then says I don't want you to do anything about it I just wanted someone else to carry it for a while.

No one, and I mean NO ONE who gets treated that way says nothing. I don't care if some 14 year old bought a snake from Kevin McKurley himself, if it was shipped wrong or something else was wrong, he'd darn well tell everyone he could that Kevin was a jerk. To claim you received a snake from a "huge" breeder that was shipped so poorly it risked the snakes life and then to say, I'm mad but I'm not telling you who did it, is pretty farfetched.

I think he was bored, and just wanted to see how many people he could stir up. And since I could not resist posting to his pointless thread, I guess you can count me stirred and not shaken.

The snake even seemed to be upset, guessing from being shifted from one side of the box to the other. The box was huge by the way something around 24x24x16 for a Juvie Ball python.

I hate to bring this back up but after re-reading your original post there is something that makes me wonder about your entire claim (Guess you were right about OP's being called out)

What intrigues me is the size of the box, I have been shipping for some times now and here is what I can tell you about shipping carriers like Fedex, they charge a dimensional weight.

So my question is regardless of the breeder why would anyone use an oversized box which would approximately cost (I ran it myself) $236 to ship (and that was my me getting a quote to ship in the state that was the closest to mine)?

Does not make much sense if the breeder was trying to cut corners on everything else like you seem to claim?
