I have locks on mine, but most of my cats could care less about the snake rack. Except for the kitten when I slide out a tub for cleaning, or to take out a snake, then she likes to think that might be a good place to hide if I would let her in. I have to make sure slide tub back in when I take a a snake, or else there might be a ninja kitten hiding in it.

Btw Mike, cats rule, dogs drool!! (J/k, I have a dog too )

The cat is in no way allowed in the snake room. He'd probably get eaten messing with the wrong snake.

The cat a friend gave to me this winter who actually wanted her back last week liked to get into places she was not allowed. She didn't pull the bin out, I was feeding and went to put the snake back in and found her lol!

I'm not sure who's worse when it comes to my snake room.... My dogs are always curious about feeding time (bad idea) while my cats think it's a jungle gym. My hubby's cat has a rack shelf all her own which is code for I don't need to fill it at the moment so I leave the tub out and she lays on it all the time. My cat is scared of the balls and adult corns so he just lays in the floor soaking up the sun. I love all my critters so I can't say cats over dogs or vice versa. If I had to choose, it would probably be reptiles and cats though. Easier to take vacations that way.

My dog is way worse than my cat! If my dog notices something new he will do anything in his power to check it out. My cat thought rodents trapped in tanks were the best thing for all of 5 minutes then lost interest. Now if my sisters cat happens to visit ever all living things I want to keep alive get double locked in a room. I love that cat but find that anything living thing I really like it will be the first to get killed off/eaten.

I have a video of my cat pulling out my tubs. I can post it if you want, it's pretty funny. The bad part is that he KNOWS what's in there and he WANTS it! I LOVE my cat! He's just a stinker. Those little things that go in front of the tubs would not stop him so I had to jimmy up some good locks. I'll post a pic of what I did and put it in this comment in a min.

My cat is FAR too interested in anything that moves. She will also stare at my BPs right outside their cages. This is a problem especially with my rescue female because she to was too interested in the cat. There's no way she could take down the cat, but she seemed to think differently. Luckily, I was in the room at the time (the cat is never allowed in that room unless I'm in there) and tried to snatch the cat away to kick her out. Apparently, she was scared because she literally mauled me when I picked her up. I still have the scars to prove it.

TBH, I am not a cat person. My fiancé and I thought it would be a good intermediate pet for her since she never really had responsibility for an animal. She walked the family dog once and a while. She loves the cat, but I'm still working on getting her to think of the animal once in a while instead of herself. ("The bowl is empty...feed the cat!") But the cat drives me absolutely nuts. I love her, but I'd much rather have a dog. Had I known that the cat and all her costs would fall to me permanently, I probably wouldn't have gotten her. I am definitely a dog person.

Give me dogs, horses and snakes any day. Lol.
