Those wiley kitties!
Honestly thats why I dont have cats...they get into stuff WAY worse than dogs IMO.
I've had lots of valuables broken because of a cat.
Good thing you were home to witness the problem!

Cats will get into anything that looks new, even if it's something stupid. When I set up a new 2.5 planted aquarium I found my cat trying to have a go at it - I thought she want to eat the betta when I realized she had never seen an aquarium before (and I put it on her favorite perching post, silly me!) and just wanted to figure out what it was. Mine have always been indoor cats, so they've never really "hunted" anything - they'll play with baby Cuban anoles that have found their way inside the house and starved, but nothing bigger or stranger than that. Once you put the locks on the cages, even if they're really basic, she's lose interest fast.
Still a very good thing to know, though, I'll keep that in mind for when I start breeding mice and need to keep them out.

I love both my dog and my cats. My cats have never messed with my racks though. I have both back stops and front locks on all my racks.

Haha wow, I'm totally a cat person but I can understand why people don't like them...it takes a special kind of .... patience.
They're all banned from that room now till I get the locks !
