Hellooooooo!

New to snakes, old to other herps, actually just frigging old.

I had a call from my vet on Monday who was upset to have to euthanise a beloved chameleon of mine that I had rescued, and who just lost the will to live, despite diligent care and medical treatment. A teacher at a special needs school had brought in a ball python who was receiving inadequate care from one of his students. The vet nursed her back to health from extreme dehydration and malnutrition, and wanted her to have a good home, and thought of me, so we collected her yesterday afternoon.

Always wanted a snake, and ball pythons come highly recommended, so I was very happy to have her, as was my youngest python-obsessed daughter who nearly exploded when I told her the news.

I'll post her care details for scrutiny in the appropriate forum, but wanted to say 'HELLO' here first!

Welcome to the site. What do you mean by "care details?" Are you referring to the care that you will provide (as in your husbandry) or the care that she received at the vet before you got her?

Both! Though I suspect that my snake-breeding herp vet is going to be fairly reliable as far as the care he gives...
