    Mouth troubles...

I have noticed Loki squeaking on occasion and decided to take look in his mouth to see that everything looks okay. In the below picture, which is not mine (I couldn't take one and keep his mouth open. The pic isn't even a BP ) I drew red on a spot that was red in his mouth. It was just that side, no other abnormal things. Mouth anatomy is a bit different than a BP so I marked as close as I could. What could cause the redness?

Also when I opened his mouth with a Q-tip he moved his head and a very small amount of fuzz got caught on a tooth, I was able to get most of it off. Will this be problem?

EDIT: I guess it didn't re-size... Enjoy the huge pic.

    Hi,

You really need pics of the actual snake involved sadly. Is there anyone who could take the pics if you held the mouth open or visa versa?

It could simply be a vein.

I'll see if I can manage tonight. It definitely looks irritated, not llike a blood vessel. That combined with the fact that the same indent on the other side is not red makes me worry. He absolutely loves having his mouth opened, so I'll do my best.

No dice on the pics... He simply would not have it. There was a tiny bit of blood when I did get his mouth open, he was thrashing around so much I think it was from the Q-tip . I couldn't get a clear picture. I'll just keep an eye on it and if it gets worse I'll take him to the vet.
