Best Way to Secure Thermostat Probe
What's the best way to secure the thermostat probe on the heat source? In terms of placement/location/material etc?
I think I did it sort of incorrectly in the past - I taped the end of the probe on top of the UTH with aluminum foil tape, but now I've heard that taping the actual like sensor part isn't good because heat can get trapped in there causing it to get incorrect readings or something of that nature.

Hot glue works well. I use electrical or aluminum tape usually, probe placed in the center of the UTH.

I used aluminun tape and placed it center mass of the flexwatt of the center rack. I only put tape on the tip of the sensor and then on part of the cord closest to the probe.

Tape will trap heat if placed around the probe.
I secure the probe down w/ tape on the cord closest to the probe.
And it's best to place the probe in the center of your heat source.

Okay, that's what I thought - I knew I was doing something wrong.
My next question would be... will removing the tape from the UTH/probe damage either of those items? Is there some kind of safe-way to do it or will it be fine? have an ultratherm, and it's just standard aluminum foil tape..

I think foil tape comes off fairly easily...removing it should affect the probe at all.
