    Camera Questions???

I am looking to get a camera for my bp business. I was wondering what was preferred for pictures and videos. I am looking into the $700 range or lower. Let me know!!!

Sony's Cybershot series are decent point-and-shoot cameras for around that price (the nicer ones are in the $500-700 range last time I checked).

I use a Sony Cybershot TX-10. They are about $300. All the pics on here and the videos on my youtube channel were shot with it.

I also use a light box set up for most still shots.

What do you mean by lightbox setup? Like a regular box with flashes set up?

Check the 'BP Pictures' section. There's a whole sticky just for lightboxes and how to make one.

No. A fabric box that you shine light through to diffuse the light and make better pics. You can also change the backgrounds. I got my set up off eBay.

It came with 2 lights and 4 colored backgrounds.

These were shot in this light box.

This gets the most bang out of any camera set up. My box is 2'X2'X2'.

I use a Nikon D60 DSLR. I think it's about $300-400 at Costco. (The package w/ extra stuff is more)

I made a DIY light tent from PVC pipes, muslin fabric, day time light bulbs w/ clamp lamps, and a poster board.

    With a light tent:

    Same camera, no light tent:

I use a Cannon Rebel T3 which run about $550. The lens I use while photographing my snakes is EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS which is probably $700, but could be able to find them a bit cheaper. If you buy the camera with the lens that lens is pretty good. I just like the longer lens since I have two who like to strike. Here are some pictures of snakes and outings in which I have used the camera and a few different lens.

    Question

Okay one more question? It may sound stupid, but do you use a flash when shooting with a lightbox???
