    Re: Ball python poop

Ball Pythons do not poop every day. once a week is normal. sometimes once a month. read up on ball python husbandry in the forum topics page.

Yes, this is normal. When they are babies, they absorb most of the nutrients from their food. Your snake will go when it is ready.

Yea it's normal, I just picked up a baby male last week. Got up this morning went to the gym, then when I came back check on my snakes and they both had left me some presents. Great way to start my day off before work lol.

This is going to sound stupid and like I am taking the mickey. I am not nor intending to, but it is still something that is hard to get your head around.

    Snakes are not mammals.

Us poor mammals have a hard time getting our heads around that, they can be still for ages, not eat for months, nor poop/pee for months at a time. When a mammal pulls this it is dead or a hibernating.

Everyone knows snakes are cold blooded we know what that means but it takes some time to understand that. You are just taking time to adjust, they are wonderful fascinating animals, and utterly and completely not mammalian. What is a serious health concern for you is not necessarily for your snake. Welcome and keep asking your questions! Every person here had to make that adjustment too.

Yep. They tend to store up a whole lot of waste and then pass it all at once. They are very good at absorbing the maximum from their food, though. We pass much more waste than they do. For that I am thankful because snake poop stinks.
