My inexperience almost cost my girl. I did not notice that mice is that much bigger until it is in the tank.

Why are you feeding live? Frozen/thawed is the way to go.

May this be a lesson to you.
Be responsible and double check your prey item next time to throw it in the tank like that.
Converting to frozen/thawed prey will prevent your snake from possible life threatening bites.
Your lucky your snake didnt suffer a fatal encounter with that mouse, he was way to big for that king.

That was a big ole rodent, but the snake got the job done.(did it get it down the hatch?) They are amazing animals. But yeah next time get a more appropriate sized prey item. There's nothing wrong with feeding live.....if you do it correctly.

It was my second live feed. I run out of f/t mouse and pet land also had no more, last year. So, I just took what they had on hand and drop it in. That was last time she had live mice. She took more than one hour to swallow it. Thanks god that she is strong & has skill.

It is a snake so the do stretch but kings jaws don't expand as much as other snakes do so you always have to be a little more careful with them.

What's done is done so it's good that you are learning from the mistake. You should have taken the mouse out of the tank once you knew it was too big for the snake. It would have been fine to let it kill the mouse and then take it away once you it tried to eat it.

Large mice will and can bite snake if it get a chance before snake kill the mice. If she can't kill this mice, she is in deep trouble. Angry and frightened large mice will rip the small snake and she had to struggle for this kill. Lucy that she has skill

Yea but you were monitoring the feeding so if the mouse went crazy and attacked your snake or something you could have intervened.

You are right I will definately intervene. I am only worry about single good bite from this size mice before I can pull them apart. It will be quite bloody.
