Exclamation Injected snake , stabbed my own thumb afterwards when she start flailing about

Didn't get any Baytril in me but 'interior snake germs' had to be on the needle.

What's the worst that could happen?

I washed my hands and used sanitizer but the stab spot really smarts.

[and the big rip tagged me when I took her out of her tub thinking it was feeding time]

The "bite" was totally a non-event and already forgotten.

What a gloriously horrible week it's been.

I doubt that you have anything to worry about. I would keep an eye out for signs of infection local to the "injection" site, but apart from that I don't think that you are at much more risk than you would be from simply handling the sick snake.

and I too agree, this week has really sucked...

    Seriously sucked.

    Maximum suckitude.

So much consummate, spectacular suckiness that this week could easily devour a black hole, entire.

    The Big Suck Theory.

    On the bright side;

My two 4 month hunger strike little twerps finally decided that they were, indeed, snakes and miraculously remembered the complex mechanics of eating a frigging mouse.

    Hallelujah, world without end.

You should be fine dude but i would defiinetly keep an eye on it in case it gets infected. If on the off chance it goes then its gunna be fun explaining to your doctor what happened lol

Wash it good and keep an eye on it. If it starts to swell soak it in warm sea salt, that will draw the infection out.

I got stabbed in the thumb by a Vet that was trying to Euthinize a cat, I was 6 months pregnant, thankfully the syringe was still full, it was not enough to harm a human, just a 6 lb cat. So that was fun! I never had an infection or anything bad happen.

I did that once but it was with Fortaz. Nothing happened and I'm still here and alive!

Giving shots to snakes is definitely not the funnest part of snake keeping, that's for sure.

He knows I have snakes and thinks they're the coolest thing, ever.

He wouldn't even bat an eye.

It feels and looks fine, now.

Probably just part of my "Eewwww! Anywhere but my fingers!!" injury hangup.
