Moving to England. How can I bring a ball python?

In a couple of months, I'm moving to England. I just bought a male pied ball python and I REALLY. don't want to have to sell him.

I have no idea how I would go about bringing him with me. If it would be really difficult, it might be easier for me to put a price on him. If I CAN take him, I'll do everything in my power to make that happen.

What the heck do I do with him?
Do I need any permits, do I need to get permission from anybody?
Would I ship him to my new address, or can I take him with me on the plane like you would a dog or a cat?
Have any of you ever done this before?

    Halp!

You will need to ship him which between paperwork and shipping itself will cost around $500 to $1000

You will need to find a breeder or broker that can export BP and can ship him for you.

What paperwork are you referring to?

I think you'll need CITES paperwork. I'd talk to some of the breeders who do business in the Hamburg shows and see what they advise. I know the shows are in Germany, but they may have insights on how to get him to England (or may be able to do it for you)

Re: Moving to England. How can I bring a ball python?

    Hi,

Yes you need cites papers from america to export him and cites paperwork from england to import him. Most people usually use an agent to handle the process and deal with the authorities.

Bob Clark and NERD both send shipments to the uk and europe so they might be good people to ask on the procedure and costs.
