My grandparents live in NC too and the cantalopes they grow are the best ever! Sooooo much better than anything you can get in the store. Youll love them!
I would love to grow hot peppers but the climate is too cold for it. Another reason why i hate CT lol.
Just a thought on your peppers have you ever tried to pot them and put them in a window seal?
