    Last year I bred a Lesser male to a bumblebee female.
    The lesser has no stripe and the bee really doesn't have much if any either.


    But they produced...

    female queenbee with a killer stripe...


    and a lesserbee female...


    The bee's in the clutch had very little striping, but as you see spider can throw some striped offspring, no extra genes are needed to do so.
