Personally, I hate eco earth for ball pythons. Mainly because I hate cleaning up dirt..seems counterproductive.

For ball pythons, I would not recommend wet substrate at all. If they sit on it too long, they could develop scale rot. Not to mention it will mold quickly if it doesn't have time to dry out regularly. As for dry eco earth, I find it a little bit dusty.

The stuff looks pretty nice in a planted viv or display tank, but in my experience it just isn't worth the hassle.

My substrates of choice are Paper towel (my fav), Newspaper, aspen, or cypress mulch. All are much easier to clean, not so dusty, and not dirt lol.
