    humidity to low

The humidity in my pvc enclosure is a bit to low its staying between 39 and 41 percent. Im using a digital hygro and paper towels for substrate. Should i just spray the enclosure or what can i use for substrate that will still be good for the flexwatt underneath to get through and better for humidity

I use aspen and mist as needed to keep humidity where I want it.

You can use aspen, eco-earth, or even cypress as long as you keep the layer thin. I would avoid cypress as it is the worst with the flexwatt.

Yes you should. The flexwatt won't be able to project the heat through any substrate that is too deep.

Bank the substrate think on the cool side and thin on the warm. Coco holds the most water. Paper towels aside from being hydroscopic have a number of other drawbacks and few advantages.

The other thing that used to work for me was I put a plant saucer down on the cool side first and fill a lot of substrate over the top of it 2-3 inches. (cool side only) poke a hole with your finger down and pour water into the saucer. It adsorbs into the substrate (especially coco coir) and dramatically increases the RH with out wetting the top surface. I would re fill as it dried every 3-5 days in my case.

I decided a humidifier in the room was easier and now I fill it every 4 days and everything holds 60% even.
