what would you do?
Hey guys,
I have the "opportunity" to trade my DIY 10 bin 28qt melamine rack with a buddy of mine for his 5 bin 28qt Boaphile rack. Here are the specs on both.
My Rack
- Melamine
- OLD lol I'm the second owner..
- 10 bins
- Back Heat
His Rack
- PVC type, self extinguishing material
- 5 bins
- Belly Heat
The boaphile holds heat and humidity better than my rack, but I'm cutting my spots in half that way.. What do you guys think I should do? What would you do?
Cheers,
Chris.

If you can afford to give up that much tub space right now, the PVC set up will probably give you better service in the long run.

That's what I was thinking. I actually offered up the trade because he's got his quarantines on a strip on flexwatt across 2 desks lol. I would rather have the boaphile but giving up the spots made me second guess myself. I can fit all of my guys in my 7 bin 41qt rack i bought yesterday so the boaphile will set me up for new additions.

In my experience, PVC heats easier than most any DIY melamine rack. Mine hold humidity well also.

I've really abused the heck out of my pvc racks, and they still look practically brand new. If you can swing having less spots, I'd jump on that deal. You can always pick up another rack of that size to stack on top of it and have your original ten spots back with no loss of floor space.
While my old melamine dinosaurs served their purpose, I'd never go back.
