So I came home and no power
I came home and the power was out today. I have three clutches in the incubator. One due to hatch in just over a week , one 10 days after, and the third was put in a week ago. The temp inside the incubator was around 78 degrees. I have no idea how long the power was out, but obviously long enough to affect the temp. My question is how bad will it be? I'm sick worrying about it now. Any input would be great, even if it's not good news.

I'm not sure; but if the power is not back on now, I am assuming it is, but if not, find some other place to plug the bator into.

I think they will be ok from what I've read/heard. It seems like temp spikes for an extended period of time are more detrimental than a small dip for a few hours.

Temp swings can be a problem but I would think they would be fine. Do you water bottles in the bator? you need to have water bottles incubator to keep the temps up. Mine can hold temps for a couple hours. You can also keep filling up the water bottles with hot water to keep the temps up when the power goes out. I can keep my bator at 90 degrees for about 8 hours just by putting hot tap water in bottles.

Re: So I came home and no power
I think your babies will be fine. I had a power outage my first clutch on its 3rd day of incubation,
I had dips as worse as the how 70's and brief spikes up to 96(the water I added in the bator was too hot most likely)
That outage lasted for 2 days though I did manage to keep the temps stable most of the time, It was only when I needed sleep that I'd then wake up and find the bator temp in the 70's.
In the end all 9 of my eggs hatched fine, tho 1 baby does have a minor tail kink, I really don't think you have anything to worry about.

A freind of mine had their bator drop down below 78 while they were away for a couple days and when they came back they saw they tripped a breaker but their clutches hatched out on day 60 healthy as can be. A few hours should be no big deal.
