One last question before i leave =(

So, we're getting ready to move, and where we going, i don't think they've even heard of internet, much less have it available. Honestly, i don't know what i'm going to do without all the wonderful info available on this site. I've printed pretty much everything i can, caresheets, answers to my questions, other peoples questions (feel free to recommend any other info that might come in handy)

My LAST question before i go is this...

Last night was feeding night, and samantha, god help her, missed twice, and proceeded to curl up in a ball and ignore me. Did she basically just get frustrated? or maybe the prey was too small? (i offered her a hopper, but shes kind of a big baby)

I feel like i did something wrong, because she was totally interested in it, doing her little "hunting" moves, pretending to stalk it, etc. Should i try again tonight, or just give it a week?

I would wait a week, hard to say what exactly happened. Prey size is a possible cause. Was the rodent about as big around as the biggest part of your BP?

was it a live, pre-killed, or frozen thawed rodent? if ti was frozen it might not have been warmed up enough (same could be true with the pre-killed if enough time passed for the rodent to cool off)

it was a f/t, but i don't think heat was an issue, after i let it thaw, i let it sit in some hot water (inside a ziploc bag) for about 20 minutes.

The mouse was a little smaller than her hips (good god how shes grown) perhaps its time to move up in size?

That may be the case, hard to say though. I would try to get something little bigger and see what happens.

Well, my pinstripe male did exactely the same thing and hid in his hide after. So I hit the f/t one more time with the hairdryer, just stuck the head of the f/t in his hide, and before I knew it he was swallowing it.

my Stinger bee did the same thing the last two feedings, i think she was just more irritated overall. i would not worry to much at this point unless it continues. may have just been a bad day for your baby there.

Good luck with your move. Where are you going? The last place I moved to that didn't have internet was a fire base in southern Afghanistan...

Wow, I didn't think there were many places in The States any more that didn't have cable.
    Good luck!
