    Re:Columbus all Ohio reptile show

Hay there, Just wanted to see if anyone has any info on this show. I was thinking of going. The next show is May 19th. I think it's in Columbus Ohio at a Moose Lodge there. Any one ever go to this show and is it worth the trip. Should only be an hour or so from me. Thought it would be a change to see another states expo. Any input would be appriciated.

Having lived in Ohio for two years I can tell you one thing.... Don't waste your time or gas.

    A. The venue is filthy.
    B. 95% Of the vendors are shady.
    C. The Kick brothers are the largest cough, cough breeders there. That alone should tell you all you need to know.
    D. The promoter did time in prison for selling endangered reptiles. He also promotes the Cleveland show.

I could go on but you get the point.

Wow, that bad. I usually go to the Washington fair grounds show and the show in cheswick pa. And they do a fine job of having good vendors and a nice turn out. Well guess I'll check that show off and hit the ones I mentioned. I got to try hamburg sometime but it's about ac4 hr drive so got to plan for it. Thanks for the input.

I live 10 mins from it. That's not a bad trip. I'm done looking around in about...20 mins. I wouldn't drive an hour each way. The nicest bps there are from special k reps, which you can find online.

I've been to both columbus and cleveland shows and not impressed by either but the columbus show I won't go back to. I have to agree with the person that started this thread. I have been to the cheswhick show and the steele city show in washington. I like both of them but cheswhick is to far for me to drive now.

Thanks for the input, Special K Reptiles have a nice collection, In fact I have several snakes from them. They are at the Cheswick show from time to time also. So looks like I will stick to the Pa. shows for right now.

Exactly! I know a lot of the breeders that vend there and I really wish I didn't know 90% of them. A few of them have even gone as far as trying to ruin our reputation because their lives are that uneventful. This isn't a BOI, so I won't go into details. My advice is don't waste your time or money going to the Columbus show. Hold out for a better show in PA or KY or simply order online.

Tim and Susan @ Special K are awesome folks and I have nothing but respect for them. We've got a few in our collection from them and would highly recommend them.

AKedit: Another local guy who has always done us right is Red Dog Reptiles/Tony's Pets. Not sure what shows he vends besides Cleveland and the PA shows, but he is another I would highly recommend.
