    Help with feeding

Okay so my bp will not eat outside of his cage, but the past 2 times iv fed inside cage he has nailed them quickly but when doing so he gets a mouth full of the substrate (Eco earth) so tonight I let him hit it inside them tried moving him and he just let go and showed no interest after being moved. I need suggestions how why I should do? Feeding in cage is just fine if I could find a way to keep substrate out of his mouth. Any help is great!

You can put a sheet of paper down in the cage so he can't get the Eco-earth in his mouth.

As long as he isn't consuming huge amounts I don't think it will harm him but im not certain...when I was worried about that I put a plate in my bps cage and fed him over top of that

I tried putting the paper towel down, but he just ran back into his hide and stayed there. The second I took the paper towels out and put it in front of him, he bit so idk..

    ^^ YuuuP!

On some of my smaller snakes I toss in a precut piece of cardboard to cover the substrate before I feed, works like a charm.

Try covering the substrate a while before feeding. I usually put the cover in about 15 or 20 minutes before I feed to prevent scaring them or doing too much all at the same time.
