This - it seems to be entirely personal.

Me, I cool mine - I drop the hot spot to 87, 88, usually around the time of year that ambient temperatures drop down to the high 60s, low 70s. While I have had success without doing so, each year I've had the cooling period my girls all started ovulating etc like clockwork afterwards. My experience with it is that it makes things more predictable, which can be nice.
