Even the smallest hatchlings go from being started on hopper mice to small adult mice very quickly. Go grab a scale (you can get digital kitchen scales for almost nothing at Walmart) and if you want to be absolutely sure about what you should be feeding, weigh him and feed 15% of his body weight.
Scales are an essential part of husbandry anyways so you'll get a lot of use out of it.
