2011/2012 Pairings here at Squamish Serpents

Well I must say, it seems like it's going to be a pretty big year for us! We didn't have much luck with our balls last year, but this year we've already got 2 clutches in the incubator, one due to be laid within the next week or so, and we've had another Ov today. WHOOHOO!

My boyfriend and I started this venture with 2 pairs of corn snakes, and let's just say it's ballooned a little bit...I honestly couldn't even tell you how many snakes we have right now, between the few older breeders we have just sold, and the hatchlings (corns) that have just emerged...we are going to be very busy!

Here are some of our pairings:

    Albino F x het. Albino M - Eggs laid & due to hatch on June 1st, 2012

het. Albino F x Spider het. Albino

Real crappy iPhone pic of our Mojaves (unfortunately that has been their one and only lock this season, and it doesn't look like much else is happening )

Spider F X Pinstripe M (They locked up many many times earlier in the season, but again, not much looks to be happening with her. Time will tell)

Normal F x Spider M - The female is ovulating right now!

    Normal F #2 x Mojave M - Eggs laid May 1st, 2012

We also picked up a 2nd Albino girl, who has locked up with our Spider. het. Albino a few times. Unfortunately the Spider has lost one of his hemipenes and is now on Baytril injections. No idea how it happened, either. That has most definitely been a huge disappointment and put a little bit of a damper on what otherwise looks to be a promising breeding season. The vet didn't seem worried at all, and said it is something that happens all the time, so meh.

Either way, I'm really excited to get some baby balls this season. It's our first year that we've had a number of females ready, so it should be really fun to see what hatches out! I will keep posting as eggs are laid, and as babies start to hatch!!

    Thanks for looking
